Very good performance earlier this evening at Bei Koc from Michael Barthel, a musician and former promoter from Leipzig who plies a contemporary iteration of the textual trade best personified by Kurt Schwitters (viz. Ursonate). Michael was one of the team in Leipzig who booked To Live and Shave in L.A. into a gallery space for our 2008 European run; that concert had to be cancelled when we found ourselves without transportation for two days. So, twas nice to finally meet, pick up his new CD on Tochnit Aleph (STAPEL, TA118), and enjoy his well-executed mirroring.
