Two Compilation Tracks

VA - Forced Cranial Removal

(1995, Fifth Column CD 63197.)

Availability: out of print.

To Live and Shave in L.A. - "The Drugs' Drug-House Dissolving"

(We were positioned third on the album, a motley compendium of FCR's coldwave/EBM/industrial-lite outfits with TLASILA as the orphaned, one-legged swan. Or, loveless leech. Make your own barnyard analogies.)

Recorded, mixed and produced by TS at The Studio, Miami, April 1995.

Rat Bastard - bass
Ben Wolcott - oscillator
Tom Smith - vocals and exteriors

Music TLASILA / Lyric TS.

(7.56 MB, ripped at 320 kbps.)

VA - Holiday Abstractions: Easter, Puberty, & Amplifiers EP

(1996, Ignivomous Records 7" IG 03.)

(I never received a copy of the damned thing, so I've no idea where we sat on the comp. Maybe track one, side two? The other artists featured were Expose Your Eyes, Flying Luttenbachers, ASM, Duotron, Hyware, Dog, K Salvatore, Malta, Noggin, Rock Paper Scissors, and Cock ESP.)

* (Note: the enclosed info file was mistakenly left blank. Apologies.)

To Live and Shave in L.A. - "Tina Russell, Free"

Recorded by Rat Bastard at Churchill's Hideaway, Miami, August 27, 1994. This date marked Ben Wolcott's debut appearance with TLASILA. The composition assayed ended up on the release version of the then-in progress Helen Butte.

Mixed and produced by Rat and Tom.

Rat Bastard - bass
Ben Wolcott - oscillator
Tom Smith - voice, edits

Music TLASILA / Lyric TS.

(2.83 MB, ripped at 320 kbps.)

On the Cusp

Tom Smith Don Fleming - Gin Blossoms EP

(1991, Seminal Twang CD Twang 7.)

Availability: long out of print.

01 Izzy
02 Dizzy
03 Too Young
04 Swinging Sal
05 Freda's Surfing Board

Recorded February 1991 at Waterworks, NYC, by Don Fleming and Jim Waters. Mixed and produced by Don. The "Funhouse" loop that supplied "Sal"'s backbone is rather irritatingly obvious, but otherwise, a fondly-remembered popwarp excursion. DF dragged me out of my no-vox, improv-only cave, kick-starting the TLASILA juggernaut in the process. He has a helluva lot to answer for...

The EP hovered about the Dead Sea ledge of the NME poop charts for a week or two. 'Twas the closest I've ever come to mainstream recognition. Cunts.

Music TSDF / Lyrics TS.

(32 MB, ripped at 320 kbps.)
