Karl Schmidt Verlag returns today with a release originally scheduled for mid-December. Our Stateside trip necessitated a delay, and so... We present a new double-disc collection of live, improvised loops recorded in November of last year by T/SMS. It's titled Circe und Gêmeos, and it will be made available later today...

Future Now.

Karl Schmidt Verlag: the December-January break is receding into memory. KSV will resume operations next week with a new slate of releases. We'll be shifting our focus in the next year from music to publishing, with our sister labels taking over vinyl and cassette manufacturing. We remain opposed, as ever. No press, no promo, no pandering, no explanations. KSV 2015, and beyond.

Always Better to Be First Among One's Multiples...

Good Afternoon from Tallahassee.

December 31, 2014: I took the first- and second-ever PiL bootlegs out for a stroll. For all the endless format/quality yammering over the 36 years since these albums were issued, it's no surprise that half-focused audience recordings have always instilled the most profound thrills. Nubes was particularly inspiring. During Keith Levene's lacerating solo in "Theme," you can hear a Rainbow Theatre audience member (presumably standing near the taper) wilt and crumble with an agonized "Aaaauugghhhhhh!" Sounds no one had ever before heard. I've since acquired (near) soundboard editions of their first ten gigs, but these, my friends, engendered mystery...

It'll be twenty-five years in May. Twenty-seven since I first saw the absurd VHS artwork for Ron Jeremy's profoundly noncommittal To Live and Shave in L.A. in the backroom of a smallish university town's lone semi-progressive video barn. I knew it was perfect. Drearily high, appallingly low. An incorruptible precursor. We've not been proved wrong.

In celebration, one new mix or loop (or multiples of same) per day for 365 days.
