dp Denounces the Vegan Reich as Asparagus Comes to Town...
Complete exhaustion... We slept for an eternity, despite the yammering of the construction crews and the blasting, the scraping, the falling bits of plaster, the joints and sockets careening off the sills and ledges onto the avenue below. We slept hard, then slept again, all day, in and out of consciousness. Tearing through that frayed but resilient caul of fatigue was the most difficult task I've attempted on the tour... Dave Phillips dropped by in mid-afternoon for lunch; rather than step out to a restaurant, he offered us his very best kitchen improvisation and prepared a delicious repast. In keeping with our history, we alternately defamed and saluted each other, enjoying the memory of absurd rows past... Ricardo and Sara, our delightful hosts, offered us the run of their apartment while we washed and dried our near-disgusting dirty laundry. Such decent (and very cool) people... Sara is an evolutionary biologist, and Ricardo works at a recording studio. Their apartment is stacked with DVD-Rs filled with the best and rarest of 20s-70s experimental cinema. Nabbed a newly printed version of Yoko Ono's Fly. Sweet...
