Nina Kuzma-Sapiejewska: A Sense of History...

The Times today posted a three-minute audio slideshow of Ms. Kuzma-Sapiejewska, the justifiably renowned Chopin interpreter, recorded in her Largemont, New York apartment. She's lived there for 20 years...

"I find that... the civilization would be very poor if we didn't have this music..."

Chopin was cool, romantic, and very, very tragic, and, despite the muttered misgivings of Glenn Gould, should remain required listening. Try Fantasy for piano in F minor/A flat major, for starters.
