Hello Everybody,

Urgh. Total OS meltdown, and woe is me for not using a disc imaging program as a backup to my backup. Managed to recover 95% of everything (via laborious DOS routines), and the reconfigured rig is running well. Only minor losses and annoyances. But, yeah, what a colossal waste of time...

Back to normal sometime tomorrow.

For the shear amount of data that you work with on a regular basis you really should invest in an online backup account like Mozy. Time capsule really saved me a few weeks ago from a crashed hard drive, but I understand that it would be cheaper to get a Mac here than it would in Germany (not that you would want one).
